From Sports Data to Actionable Insights

From Sports Data to Actionable Insights — where sport meets tech

Ever wondered how data can actually change the way athletes train, perform, or win?
This BIP takes you straight into the world where sports, performance, and technology collide. You’ll learn how to capture, analyze, and visualize real sports data — and turn it into insights that make a difference for athletes, coaches, and sports clubs.

Get ready for an international, hands-on experience combining online teamwork, live data collection, and real-world challenges. You’ll work with professional tracking tech like GPexe, PlayerMaker and Vald, and dive into Power BI, one of the most powerful tools for turning raw numbers into clear, visual stories.

Your BIP journey

Online phase:
Connect with students from all over Europe, explore the basics of data-driven sports analysis, and get started with Power BI.

Face-to-face week @ Howest Bruges:
Work in international teams to design your own interactive sports dashboards.

Visit Club Brugge, a top-tier football club, and discover how elite teams use player and commercial data to stay ahead.
Enjoy a cultural visit to the legendary brewery De Halve Maan nestled in the heart of historic Bruges.
Wrap up the week by presenting your insights to a panel of sports data experts.

Learn from the pros

Throughout the week, you’ll meet guest speakers from the sports analytics industry, including professionals from Vald, PlayerMaker, and GPexe. They’ll share how they use cutting-edge data tools to track, analyze, and improve athletic performance.

Why join?
