Hosted at the Industrial Design Center at Howest Kortrijk, a vibrant design hub and state-of-the-art prototyping workshop, this Blended Intensive Programme offers an international learning experience focused on next-generation interactive information systems.
Working in dynamic, interdisciplinary teams, participants will push the boundaries of innovation and creativity by combining digital UX/UI, physical product design, and practical engineering. The challenge is to design adaptable smart way finding and information solutions tailored for a wide variety of public spaces, ranging from bustling urban transit hubs and city squares to parks and cultural institutions.
To ensure your designs make a meaningful contribution, you will dive deep into user research and human behaviour analysis, collaborating directly with local communities in the city of Kortrijk. This hands-on, community-driven approach guarantees that your solutions are intuitive, accessible, and deliver real-world impact.
Through active prototyping in the workshop, your team's design journey will culminate in a tangible, high-quality deliverable: a detailed prototype, 3D model or a high-fidelity render. Throughout the process, participants are encouraged to leverage modern AI-supported tools to accelerate ideation, enhance visual prototyping, and bring visionary concepts to life.
Ready to shape the future of public spaces? Join us in Kortrijk to collaborate internationally, elevate your design skills, and create interactive solutions with real community impact.
