Modern slavery, including forced labour and human trafficking, affects millions globally and demands urgent attention. While governments and international bodies are increasingly acknowledging the seriousness of the issue, many companies fail to address the risks adequately. This project prepares participants to become proactive global citizens by addressing modern slavery in various industries.  Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding through interdisciplinary collaboration, online sessions, and real-world case studies.

The “Eurovalues Nexus: Empowering European Citizens 2.0” SAP offers an immersive learning experience that deepens participants’ understanding of European values, citizenship, and democratic engagement. Through interactive online sessions, a hands-on week in Austria, and a final reflection, students explore the EU’s foundations, citizenship rights and responsibilities, and their role as active citizens. The programme equips participants with key skills and intercultural competences to engage in Europe’s diverse democratic landscape.

Futures Thinking, Future Visualization: Beyond the Now - How to master designing and communicating inspirational futures

In a rapidly changing world, the ability to imagine and communicate possible futures is essential. This COIL invites participants to explore scenario thinking and visualization techniques to develop and share inspirational futures. Through online collaboration, interdisciplinary teamwork, and tools like generative AI and augmented reality, students learn to turn complex ideas into engaging visual stories. Using scenario planning methods from NHL Stenden’s European Tourism Futures Institute (ETFI), they gain skills to envision and communicate future possibilities.
