The SAP emphasises sustainability in Camino de Santiago tourism, aiming to assess the current state of tourism on the Central Portuguese Camino. It critically examines the role of Heritage Interpretation in sustainable tourism and proposes practical strategies to achieve balance between tourism, heritage preservation, environmental and social sustainability. Additionally, learning and research methodologies will be developed with study findings assessed in the context of their implications for the future of sustainable tourism along the Camino de Santiago.
