This Short Advanced Programme (SAP) is part of RUN-EU Students Week, hosted by Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (IPCA) and jointly coordinated with the Technological University of the Shannon: Midlands Midwest (TUS). Throughout the week, students will work in international teams to solve real-world challenges through practical, hands-on activities.This course explores how AI is transforming MedTech by converting medical images into 3D-printed models and custom devices, blending theory with hands-on practice.

Beyond the Stick - Cane handles design challenge

This SAP is part of the RUN-EU Students Week, hosted by IPCA and jointly coordinated with TUS. Students will work in international teams to solve real-world challenges through innovative, hands-on activities.The five-day challenge focuses on designing ergonomic, personalized cane handles using 3D scanning, modeling, and printing. Participants will apply user-centered design to improve mobility aids, gaining skills in digital fabrication and healthcare design.

Climate Change Action: - Measurement, Monitoring, and Reporting Challenge

This SAP is part of the RUN-EU Students Week, hosted by IPCA and jointly coordinated with TUS. Students will work in international teams to address real-world challenges through practical, hands-on activities.This five-day challenge builds skills in measuring, monitoring, and reporting climate actions. Participants will analyse case studies, develop action plans, and collaborate with companies to design solutions, gaining insights into climate strategy and impact assessment.

Community & The Sense of Belonging

Being in a community isn’t the same as feeling you belong! The SAP, hosted by Howest and jointly coordinated with NHL en TUS, enhances participants' understanding of community building and its impact on well-being. By fostering a learning group culture, encouraging participants to share their personal stories, and identifying commonalities within and across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the SAP aims to create a "NEW WE", reshaping narratives around education and learning. The aim is to set clear goals for each RUN EU partner to build stronger communities and boost the sense of belonging.

Designing and implementing STEAM-activities in the future innovation lab of your university (in an extracurricular context) – second edition - STEAM FILS WP4

Participants gain insight into meaningful STEAM education in extracurricular contexts. In international teams, they design and prototype an activity tailored to a specific youth target group, applying human-centered and inquiry-based approaches. Through coaching and hands-on sessions, they explore the seven STEAM design principles and develop facilitation skills to inspire young learners in their university’s Future Innovation Lab. Each team tests their activity with the target group, reflects on the outcomes, and improves their design accordingly.
